Thirty-four measurements and a study of your posture become a paper pattern drafted from nothing — yours alone, kept in our archive for life.

The Cloth

Over two thousand cloths from the great English and Italian mills — and when none will do, we commission exclusive runs of our own.

The Fittings

Baste, forward, and final — three fittings in which the garment is repeatedly broken down and recut until it moves as you move.

Founded on West 57th Street in 1971 by two Savile Row emigres, Ashby & Finch remains a working atelier — every pattern drafted, every coat basted, every buttonhole sewn by hand, upstairs. Our cutters travel quarterly to Chicago and Dallas for trunk-show fittings.
